Speaker Bio

Anita B. Walton has over 27 years of significant and progressive experience in Higher Education, specializing in advancement and student affairs. Her prior work experience includes service at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Division of Student Affairs, the UNC General Alumni Association and North Carolina Central University in the Division of Institutional Advancement where she served as the Chief Alumni Relation Officer. While at North Carolina Central Anita effectively grew and managed a broad range of activities involving relationship building, fundraising, program, event and volunteer management. Anita also served as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at North Carolina Central University. Where she was responsible for student engagement, administration and strategic initiatives. She currently serves as Senior Director of Diversity and Talent Management at CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education). In this role Anita provides leadership in developing, communicating and executing a comprehensive strategy to successfully attract, hire and maintain a continuous talent pipeline, with significant emphasis on efforts to diversify the profession, enhance and promote student programs including CASE ASAP, the CASE Advancement Internship Program and oversight to CASE Career Central. Anita earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in Education from North Carolina State University.
