The past year-plus has been the most unpredictable, anxious, scary, and exhausting that most heads have ever faced. Covid has kept them under relentless pressure, taxing their leadership skills and their personal well-being. And the future is far from certain. Crisis leadership is hard, but post-crisis leadership presents its own issues. This program will offer heads a chance to reflect on the journey, on the professional and personal challenges they’ve endured, and on lessons they’ve learned. Drawing on a lifetime of crisis work in schools, Rob Evans will outline concrete ways to simplify leadership, reduce stress, and construct a strong future.

Change is, and always has been, an inevitable fact of life. We wonder, however, if COVID has altered the course and accelerated the pace. What are those “silver linings'' and “new realities” and do they create opportunities for evolution or require revolution? What has truly changed, what has remained the same, and how can schools maintain stability and mission focus during these times of transition...or even transformation? Pull up a chair and join the NCAIS, PAIS and TAIS “think tank” as we overcome our battle fatigue, and reflect and explore together.
