with Chuck Ainsworth and Dr. Zithobile Nxumalo | Tides Ballroom BC

Think about the number of interactions that happen between students, parents, faculty, and administrators. Each conversation is an opportunity (or missed opportunity) for trust to be built, understanding and growth to occur, for people to feel their voice is heard, and that they belong. The ability to navigate conversations that matter is one of the most important and underestimated skills for personal and professional success and we believe a few simple habits make the difference.  This interactive session will equip you to:

  • Navigate any conversation on any topic

  • Build trust and relationships

  • Help others feel heard and understood

  • Unlock emotional intelligence

  • Better manage stories and bias

Ready to make every conversation matter?

The need for teamwork in education operates differently than in some other professions but is no less important, particularly now. Interdependent teamwork—a leadership culture or mindset based on the collaboration of otherwise independent groups in schools—happens when resources, expertise, and learning are shared across departments, divisions, and programs. Teams demonstrating curiosity, using appreciative inquiry skills, cultivating, and sharing beliefs and practices with an emphasis on inclusive learning are hallmarks of interdependent leadership in action. An interactive, facilitative dialogue about the Head of School leadership triad of leading self, with teams, trust, and sustaining community will be the focus of our work together.
