Faculty Bios: Carney Sandoe & Associates 
 

Lawrence Alexander serves as the practice leader for Carney, Sandoe & Associates' Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practice. The practice is responsible for leading retained searches for school leaders and providing consultative support for boards, executive leadership, and faculty and staff. To date, Lawrence has conducted anti-bias training with more than 50 colleges and universities, more than 30 independent schools, and a host of corporate and community-based organizations. He provides guidance related to board governance, strategic planning, climate assessment, and inclusive hiring.

  Chris Boyle is a consultant with the Search and Consulting Group and a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practice Group. Chris brings 15 years of independent school experience from North Shore Country Day School (IL) where he has served as Assistant Head of School and Academic Dean since 2010. In his role, he was instrumental in the school’s institutional and strategic initiative leadership, authoring two strategic plans and managing the vision and growth of the Global Citizenship Program, Faculty Evaluation System, Off-Campus Study Risk Management Practices, Educational Technology, and Library Programs. Since 2004 Chris has been an active volunteer with the Point Foundation (CA), which is the largest scholarship-granting organization in the U.S. for LGBTQ college aspiring individuals. 
Seliat Dairo joined the Search and Consulting practice after four years in the Placement Group at Carney Sandoe. While serving as a Placement Counselor supporting science, history, visual art, and health and fitness teachers, she was also deeply involved in diversity and equity work at the firm as a member of the Diversity and Equity team, planning Carney Sandoe’s annual FORUM/Diversity conference, and presenting on pathways to headship at the BOLD Summit at Galloway. Before Carney Sandoe, Seliat worked at Ethical Culture Fieldston School (NY) in the Progressive and Multicultural Education department, working on special projects including the planning of the Progressive Education Network Conference and internal teacher development programs, as well as DEI resources for students, parents, and hiring teams. 
Brandon Jacobs supports both our Head of School and Key Administrator Search Practices, as well as our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consulting Practice. Since 2018, Brandon has served as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at The Shipley School (PA) where he leads the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs that sustain an inclusive school community and curriculum and fulfill the School’s diversity and inclusion goals. Working closely with school administrators, he directs recruitment and retention initiatives to broaden the diversity of the student body and among faculty and staff. A champion of diversity work, he oversees affinity groups, leads the All-School and Divisional Diversity teams, and plans all programming related to diversity and inclusion. 
Martha Neubert is a consultant in our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practice, and assists with retained head of school and key administrator searches. Martha is currently the Dean of Equity and Social Justice at Northfield Mount Hermon School (MA), a role she will continue to serve in. Martha joined NMH in 2005 as a history and social science teacher, and in 2016 became the Dean of Equity and Social Justice and director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. As a member of NMH’s senior leadership team, her work focuses on social justice initiatives and promoting an inclusive campus culture through programming, hiring and retention, professional development, admissions, curricula, and more. She supports the head of school and other senior leaders and departments in all areas of access, inclusion, and social justice.
