Meet Our Leaders

Cameron Bolin is an accomplished music educator, pianist, vocalist, and conductor. She has a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Music K-12 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Cameron has fifteen years of choral teaching experience from K-12, earning numerous superior ratings and awards for her choral programs at regional competitions. She most recently served as the Upper School Choral Director, Musical Director, and Private Lessons Administrator at Ravenscroft, where she was honored with the Qubain Award for Teaching Excellence. As a music educator, Cameron is passionate about teaching music literacy and infusing theory in her choral rehearsals.

Outside of the classroom, Cameron has had the opportunity to conduct, perform, direct, and advocate for music education in various settings, presenting strategies for fundraising and advocacy for choral programs at educational conferences. A member of MTNA, NCMEA, ACDA, and RPTA, Cameron consults with local school choral programs, continues to teach piano, and adjudicates both piano and choral festivals.

Currently, Cameron is pursuing a Doctorate of Music Education from Boston University, is the Performing Arts Director for the North Carolina Association of Independent Schools, and serves on adjunct faculty at Meredith College as Artistic Director of Capital City Girls Choir. Cameron and her husband reside in Raleigh with their two boys, Taylor and Drew.

Meet Our Conductors

Dr. Michael D. Martin is the Director of Choral Activities and Coordinator of Music Education at Methodist University. He conducts the MU Chorale, Chamber Singers, “The NobleSound,” “Grace Notes,” and the MU Chamber Orchestra.

Dr. Martin is the immediate past and current Artistic Director of the Cumberland Choral Arts (CCA) organization. The CCA was a finalist for the American Prize in Community Chorus Performance and was inducted into the Fayetteville Music Hall of Fame. He helped to steer the group through the pandemic by producing over 20 virtual choir videos, increased their in-person membership to 85 members, and helped the group achieve their first performance at Carnegie Hall. Dr. Martin is also the first recipient of the Union-Zukowski Endowed Professor in the Fine Arts, is a two-time recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award through the National Society of Leadership and Success, and is a recipient of the Exemplary Teacher Award from the Methodist General Board of Education of North Carolina. He has availed himself to guest conducting choirs in New England before moving to North Carolina, NC, SC, and FL. He earned a Master of Arts in Conducting and a Bachelor of Music Education through the University of Maine, and a Ph.D. in Music Education through Kent State University.

The MU Chorale has toured the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy recently, and from Orlando to Boston. The ensemble recorded 2 CDs: A Yuletide Keepsake and Legacy. Dr. Martin serves as the co-Chair for the NC All-Collegiate Festival Chorus as part of his board work for NC-ACDA and is a member-at-large for the Higher Education Committee for the NC Music Educators Association. He continues his creative projects through collaborative partnerships with his community chorus, the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, and NC middle and high school programs.
