Developed and managed by independent school educators, VISnet is uniquely positioned to understand and support the needs of today’s independent schools.

History

VISnet began in North Carolina as an outgrowth of the North Carolina Association of Independent Schools (NCAIS) in 2009. The following year, VISnet was the recipient of a generous EE Ford grant which allowed our organization to expand beyond the boundaries of North Carolina. We now have partnerships with the Alabama Association of Independent Schools (AISA), Florida Association of Independent Schools (FCIS), the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA), the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), South Carolina's Palmetto Association of Independent Schools (PAIS), the Tennessee Association of Independent Schools (TAIS),  and the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS). Together, these eight states make up the Southeast Collaborative, which offers a dozen of VISnet's most popular resources to the 800 member schools within the organizations.
