Design with the End-User in Mind:

Design Thinking Through the Lens of Service Learning

February 22, 2018 | Palisades Episcopal School, Charlotte

A service learning project requires a thorough investigation of end-users’ needs, assets, strengths, and opportunities.  This 1-day interactive workshop will demonstrate how to create authentic end-user focused project/problem-based lesson plans using a human-centered design thinking approach.  This session will help your students to:

  • Go through a rigorous process which is driven by empathy and inquiry into an end-user’s challenges and needs,

  • Imagines the point of view of the end-user when engaging with a product or service, and

  • Develop prototypes to test with end-users and gather feedback to improve final project outcomes.

Target Audience: K-12 Classroom teachers, administrators, and service learning coordinators, as well as educators interested in exploring design thinking.

Cost: $135 per person | $109 for groups of three or more
