Curtis Canty, Assistant Athletic Director at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro

Curtis Canty is in his first year as the Assistant AD for Compliance at UNCG where he has oversight of the day to day operations of the athletics compliance office. His primary responsibilities include the implementation of rules education programs, monitoring, and enforcement of NCAA legislation on the campus of UNCG. 
Curtis has over seven years of athletic experience, including previous stops at Rice University, Charlotte, and Johnson C. Smith University. During his time at Charlotte,  he served as a member of the Charlotte Athletics Title IX Committee and as a staff advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In addition to his compliance responsibilities at Rice, he was the athletic department liaison to the Office of Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid. He began his career in compliance at Johnson C. Smith University as a volunteer compliance assistant and later became a graduate assistant within the athletic department. He received his master's degree in Sports Administration in 2013 from Wingate University and is a current member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance.    

 Dr. Jordan Ezekain, Co-Medical Director for Project ADAM, board-certified pediatrician and pediatric cardiology fellow at Duke

Jordan E. Ezekian MD MPH is a senior Pediatric Cardiology Fellow at the Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center and a board-certified pediatrician. She received her Master of Public Health degree from Western Kentucky University and her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Throughout pediatrics residency at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and during her fellowship at Duke, she has been active in public health advocacy efforts at both the state and national levels. Dr. Ezekian serves as the Co-Medical Director for Project ADAM North Carolina and is passionate about making schools “Heart Safe”. She is a Physician Research Scholar with the Duke Clinical and Translational Institute and conducts translational research focusing on genetic causes of sudden cardiac death in children and young adults. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Ezekian plans to pursue additional training in Pediatric Electrophysiology.

 

Dr. Salim Idriss, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University

 

Salim F. Idriss MD Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University and the Executive Co-Director of the Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center. He is board-certified in pediatric cardiology and electrophysiology and is the Director of Pediatric Electrophysiology and the Pediatric Catheterization Laboratories at Duke. Dr. Idriss has over 20 years of experience in basic and clinical research with a specific interest in developmental electrophysiology, arrhythmia vulnerability, and prevention of sudden cardiac death in the young. He serves as the Co-Medical Director for Project ADAM North Carolina, a statewide program that prepares schools for sudden cardiac arrest events and heads the government-funded initiative to establish a national cardiac screening data warehouse through the Cardiac Safety Research Consortium.
