Join Vanderbilt epidemiologists and vaccine experts, Drs. Keipp and Tom Talbot, for an in depth presentation on the science, testing, trials, safety, and efficacy of the COVID vaccine. Dr. Keipp Talbot is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Health Policy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a special interest in the epidemiology and prevention of respiratory disease in older adults. She evaluates vaccine efficacy and effectiveness in adults. She currently serves as the Secretary of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, serves on the planning committee for the Advanced Course of Vaccinology (ADVAC), is a voting member of the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP), and is on the COVID work group for both ACIP and the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE).

Dr. Tom Talbot is a recognized expert in the field of healthcare epidemiology and infection control, as he has served as a member of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) and on the Board of Directors for the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). He also serves on the Editorial Board for Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, the preeminent journal in the field. Dr. Talbot's clinical research is centered on the area of healthcare epidemiology and infection control. He has a particular interest in vaccination of healthcare workers and the prevention of healthcare-associated infections. Dr. Talbot has more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals, with original research studies focusing on healthcare personnel vaccination, HAI surveillance, and improving hand hygiene as a tool to drive a culture of safety.
