Professional Bio
Laura has proudly called North Carolina home for 40 years. She holds a bachelor's degree in Special Education and a Master of School Administration (MSA). With more than 25 years of experience in education, Laura brings exceptional breadth and depth to her work, having served the independent school community in nearly every leadership capacity.
Throughout her career, Laura has been a Head of School, Board Chair, NCAIS Board member, NCAIS staff member, classroom teacher, and executive coach for Heads of School. These diverse experiences provide her with a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges schools face, allowing her to approach accreditation as a collaborative process rooted in both rigor and partnership. Known for her thoughtful leadership, collaborative spirit, and deep commitment to independent education, Laura is passionate about helping schools strengthen their missions, advance their strategic goals, and foster cultures of continuous improvement.
Laura resides in Charlotte with her husband, Mark, college-bound daughter, Olivia (go, Spiders), and sweet dog, Piper!
