Andrew Shimrock, Keynote Speaker

Andrew Shimrock serves as Research Coordinator in the Center for Teaching and Learning at Episcopal Academy, an independent school outside Philadelphia, where he is also a Spanish teacher and former department chair now in his fourteenth year in the classroom. His work centers on a single question: how to connect research to everyday practice in ways teachers can actually use. Grounded in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, he is drawn to the small, deliberate moves that produce outsized change in how students learn. Andrew has designed and run classroom studies, including work on rituals and routines, and has shared his thinking at Learning & the Brain and in a range of smaller in-person and online seminars. He holds a BA in Spanish and Italian and an MA in Iberian and Latin American Studies, both from the University of Notre Dame, and an M.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania.
