NCAIS is a statewide network of more than 100 independent schools serving students from preschool through high school, in communities large and small across North Carolina. Each school has its own mission and approach: secular or faith-based (including Christian, Quaker, Jewish, and Muslim communities), boarding or day, and single-gender or coeducational.
Our schools share a commitment to students and the people who teach them. Educators have opportunities to teach authentically, collaborate with dedicated colleagues, and build meaningful relationships within close-knit school communities. If you're looking for a place to grow your career and make a difference in students' lives, we'd love to meet you.
What to Expect at the Fair
Our hiring fairs bring together schools and prospective educators for conversation and connection. You'll have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with hiring representatives from NCAIS member schools, learn about their open positions and school cultures, ask questions, and share your resume with schools that interest you.
There are no scheduled interviews or on-site job offers. Instead, think of the fair as a chance to get to know one another and explore what might be a good fit. Many schools follow up with candidates they meet in the weeks after the event.
Who Are Our Schools Looking For?
Our schools are looking for people who care about student growth, both in the classroom and beyond. Whether you're an experienced educator, a recent college graduate, or considering a career change, we encourage you to come explore the possibilities.
- A four-year degree is required.
- Classroom experience and/or subject-matter expertise is preferred.
- A teaching license is not required at most schools.
Please note: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, as our schools do not sponsor visas.
